Monty

Monty was selectively bred from Dora, Black's mum who was bought by the Yorkshire Dales Trekking Centre for the opportunity to breed more like him. We chose Flash as the sire as we were pleased with how Mim was turning out and her Dad lived very locally so was a logical choice.

Monty came into the world with ease and has found life to continue in much the same way. He is calm, friendly and gentle. We have really enjoyed training him for the centre and he has been "the easiest pony in the world to ride" due to his wonderful nature. He only needs the slightest of suggestions to move forward, stop and turn. The great thing is that even if you as a rider aren't educated he is clever enough to work things out.

In fact the only riders who don't seem completely enamoured with this little man tend to be a little over zealous for things themselves and this can be confusing for this sensitive chap.

He is a great trail riding pony as well as doing the day to day treks and lessons. With him only being a little Dales, you just have to hope you're small enough to be partnered with this chap to feel how great he is for yourself!
