Pilgrim
Mim as she is known to us (far more girly a name than Pilgrim) has grown into a very nice Dales Pony. She was a bit gangly as a foal but now is quite tall and has a chest the width of a barge. She is laid back and doesn't get upset when faced with something new. If in doubt, she'll stop, think it over and then have a go. Many exclaim over how little riding is needed on Mim, she is forward going out on the treks but not strong or excitable and she has a delightfully smooth canter. She is a willing explorer and enjoys the longer treks and trail rides where she'll discover new horizons. However, if all you want is to amble along the Burns ride - she's happy to do that too.
Mim was Yorkshire Dales Trekking Centre's first homebred purebred Dales Pony. Her mum has now been retired from Yorkshire Dales Trekking Centre life but has left her legacy, Mim. We can trace her parentage quite a long way back and she comes from a very traditional line. When exploring routes over into Dentdale we visited her parent's breeder and saw the farm that the Dentdales grew up on. |
