Prince

Prince was bought as a surprise present for Peter Jackson who had worked so hard in the early days of Yorkshire Dales Trekking Centre but with no pony of his own to play with. Prince came to the yard with a big red ribbon round his neck and a funky poem in ofference to Peter and they've been buddies ever since. The partnership hasn't been without sparing as Prince thought he could lug his big body with anyone who happened to be on it wherever he pleased. Peter's put him right on this and has successfully persuaded him to toe the line (most of the time).

Prince now knows where to focus his energies and delights in canters across the moors and meadowlands, but is mature enough to enjoy an amble out too. At the weekend you'll often see Prince at the front or back of the ride when Peter's on duty, but when Peter's away then Prince is up for trekking duties with our customers. Prince is also extremely well schooled and capable of most dressage moves. He also has a real scopey jump so is a firm favourite in lessons.
