½ hour children's ride - These rides take in the quiet back lanes of Malham and through the beautiful centre of the village either crossing the old bridge or if weather permits splashing through the beck. Ideal for 8 - 10yr olds, but great for "big kids" too.
Burns Ride - An ideal trek for beginners or nervous riders as there are no roads or fields to cross. Enclosed on an ancient access track which steadily climbs into the foothills, this ride gives spectacular views and a stream crossing which make it a must for families visiting the area.
Cove Ride - circular route up into the foothills of Malham with spectacular views of Malham Cove, the most visited landmark in the Dales. Most of the ride is at walk pace but there is an opportunity for a short trot or canter for those who are capable.

2 hour Treks

Grizedales - 5 mile ride to climb Pikedaw and Kirkby Fell (reaching heights of 520m) with spectacular views across Malham Moor and its expanse of limestone features with Malham Tarn in the distance, a must for a first visit to the area. Lasts approximately 2hrs.
2hr Tarn Ride - This 6 mile ride cuts across the moor from Langscar gate to take you to Malham Tarn. After your initial climb, this ride is flatter than Grizedales so offers the opportunity for more cantering or some galloping, but does involve a little more road work to link up the bridle paths to again provide you with a circular tour. Lasts approximately 2 - 2 ½ hours.
Goredale Circular - 6 ½ mile ride along quiet lanes to Goredale. A steep climb takes you up to Lee Gate Farm where you link onto the mainly grassed over Roman road of Mastiles Lane. Crossing fields and open moorland with opportunities for cantering or some galloping, this ride takes you back in time. Lasts approximately 2 - 2 ½ hrs.

3 hour Treks

Tarn Ride - This 8 ½ mile ride takes you on from Dean Moor over to the Tarn to follow the shore round through the National Trust Nature Reserve and woodland. This is a mainly circular route ride just retracing steps at the very end to keep road work to the minimum. Lasts approximately 3 hours.

½ Day Treks

These wonderful journeys last approximately 4 hours and take in all the spectacular scenery around Malham.

Goredale and Bordley 12 miles - Takes you through Bordley Green Farm with views across Winterburn reservoir and travel further over towards Wharfedale along Mastilles Lane. Scenic with good canter opportunities.
Grizedales and Tarn Ride - an amalgamation of our two favourite 2 and 3 hour treks to make a great circular 4 hour trek.

Day Treks

These are approximately 6 - 8 hours in duration with a rider and pony lunch break included in the price.

Kilnsey 16 miles - Ride out over Malham Moor to link onto the old Roman road of Mastilles Lane to drop down into Wharfedale to stop in Kilnsey for a lunch break, with the crag in the background and hospitality of The Tennants Arms. Returning back along a different route with canter stretches over towards Threshfield and returning via Goredale.
Kilnsey Arncliffe Cote 17 ½ miles - Starts much the same as the Kilnsey day trek but carries on from the Tennant Arms to follow the road towards Arncliffe in Littondale. A bridlepath branches off to High Cote Moor to drop down towards Great Close. This trek takes you over higher ground with dramatic views down gorges and crosses many streams and springs and old mining settlements and shafts. If weather deteriorates at lunch time this may be abandoned to take the Kilnsey day trek route.
Settle 14 miles - This route picks its way over the soft grasses of Ewe Moor and Gorbeck. On clear days riders appreciate views of all 3 peaks, Pennyghent, Ingleborough and Whernside. The journey takes you right past Jubilee Cave to drop down below Blua Crags and into the old cobbled streets of Settle. The old coaching inn, The Talbot, hosts your lunch (unless we picnic) and then the ride continues out along Lambert Lane onto Stockdale Lane under the shadows of the imposing Attermire Scar to return back to Malham.
Eshton Gallops - This route starts off along the road to Airton, so riders do need to be confident in traffic. However, once off the road the route follows the Penine Way over fantastic meadowland, allowing a bit of a blast on our great Dales ponies. After the excitement we loop back along lanes and through fields to Airton tea rooms. After a restoring lunch its back over the moors along an all weather track to drop back to Malham past Goredale.
Hetton Day Ride - A lovely ride through Bordley, past plantations and over moor to drop down into Hetton for lunch at the Angel Inn. The afternoon ride loops back round to Moor Lane and then after only retracing a few steps branches off over WeetsTop to drop back to Malham via Goredale. A pricier ride due to a more expensive lunch break for both riders and ponies, but you'll not be disappointed! - In summer this ride can be done as a picnic ride for £85.

General Information

All riders and ponies will be escorted by qualified staff who will constantly assess ability, fitness and environment throughout the trek. All riders will need to fill in a form prior to riding to give an accurate self-assessment and may be asked to ride through an assessment procedure in an enclosed space before embarking on their trek.

Riders are reminded it is their responsibility to voice any concerns they may have whilst on the trek, though every care will be taken by ponies and staff toi ensure you have an excellent riding experience.

Treks will go ahead despite weather conditions, unless considered unsafe to do so. However longer routes do have the opportunity to be cut shorter should weather conditions deteriorate.

Trekking vouchers are available. Please contact us to let us know which trek you require and a contact name and address. Upon receipt of a cheque the voucher will be sent out.
